Who am I?

I am Lauren – the owner, artist, curator, and girl boss at large behind Portland Row Studio. My life revolves around the world’s cutest little boys, my ever patient husband, and two sweet pups. My background is in psychology and education, but I have always had a passion for home décor and design.  When we bought our first home just days after our first son was born, I found myself painting furniture for the house during his naptime. Soon this hobby blossomed into a little furniture painting business, that has now expanded to include an entire line of home décor and gifts. When I’m not painting or antiquing, I can be found drinking boat loads of coffee, perpetually redecorating our house (see patient husband, above), kissing lots of boo boos, expanding my ever growing collection of black and white shirts, and buying throw pillows (see again, patient husband).

Why Portland Row?

My boys are Portland and Rowan! Many of you may know that for the first several years of my business I was “Rose and Bee Furniture,” which fit me when I started, but that name was very much rooted in the past. When I started to change the direction of my business, I wanted something that truly reflected who I am today and why I do what I do. My boys are my everything and when the name popped in my head, I knew it was meant to be!
